The financial burden associated with raising a child with CP can overwhelming. Costs can exceed 1 million dollars over the course of the child’s lifetime!
Fortunately, though, there are dozens of organizations that are dedicated to helping families cope with these large expenses.
Although there are so many foundations out there, it’s not as easy to find them and learn what resources they have to offer.
Here is a list of a few of the most prominent organizations that offer help to parents in need:
A great place to start would be with the United Cerebral Palsy (UCP). It has established itself as a leader in the disability community and its staff really care about helping families in need.
Ability Found Provides affordable access to medical equipment. The organization purchases equipment for families based upon available funding resources and the urgency of each circumstance.
Danielle’s Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides therapies and equipment, as well as other benefits, assisting the CP population.
Children’s Hemiplegia and Stroke Association (CHASA) provides resources for families, including support groups, grants, and scholarships.
This is obviously only a short list of available resources. There are countless others that can be found with a little research online.
